There will be a more extensive match report to follow, as soon as I can find our PRO and get her to throw something together. For the moment though, the important facts are that Dunsany trailed by two points at half time, after being blitzed by the speed and accuracy of the Moylough counter attack. The backs seemed to be under a constant barrage of pressure, and our forwards appeared to be having one of those days in front of the posts, with the upright hit no less that four times in opening half hour. The second half, uncharacteristically for Dunsany was all about work rate and running (usually all the hard work gets done in the first half ), As the final whistle was approaching we seemed to be coasting , at one time, not only was the lead exchanged, but Dunsany cemented the lead with a five point adantage, surely this was it: Moylough had fought hard, tried their best but in the end of the day would be going home having learned a lesson from a much more experienced senior team. Oh no you don't said Moylough as they scored 1-3 un-answered. The ref saved us in the end and we won by a point. So four points from a possible four, but really we weren't convincing enough, and a lot of work will have to be done before meeting Senchalstown and St. Ultans. Well done to Ann Marie Dennehy on a fantastic game. Alison Lynch also had a super game, she showed great tenacity and speed. Lisa Donnelly and Jenny Cusack were particularly potent in attack. Over all it was a good team performance. Well done girls..
