Sinead Cusack scores her first
point of the league, on a day when
she was in flying form. Unaccustomed
as she is to being beyond the half
way line, she took her chance in
style when she was given it and
floated the ball over the bar from
just inside the 40. With her sister
Jenny on the line perhaps Sinead
was trying to make sure that the
Cusack name made it on to the score
sheet. What ever her motives lets
hope for more of the same in the
matches to come.
Teresa Mangan had a magnificent
game, particularly so in the second
half when Dunsany opted for two
inside forwards. She was a constant
target woman and won some good possesion
and got two lovely points. Debbie
fought hard in the second half when
she was swaped with Granny.
Trish Grimes, played a great game,
and made some intelligent runs to
collect the ball around the 40.
Nicola, Alison and Frances Lynch
were particularly outstanding through
out the hour, in my eyes if a woman
of the match award was to be given,
it would have to be split between
the three of them. They were all
fun of running and tackling, especially
Nicola.
The Full back line with Colette,
Shirley and Grainne, had an extremely
physical battle to contend, but
I can definitly say that they rose
above the torent of physical and
verbal abuse of the frustrated KIlmainhamwood
players, and came out holding the
Kilmainhamwood inside forward line
to very few scores. Deirdre Donaghue
was also instrumental in keeping
the advantage with Dunsany, especially
in the first half as she denied
a few cracking shots.
Joanne Cunnigham seems to be on
top physical form at the moment
and worked very hard through out
the match. Well done Joanne it is
great to have you back and playing
such great football.
Christine , came on ten minutes
into the second half and played
excellently, her fielding and positioning,
never letting it be known that she
is such a new-comer to the game.
Here is what I think the team was,
I will have to get back to you with
the proper amount each person scored:
Deirdre Donaghue, Shirley Dixon,
Colette O Connell, Grainne, Joanne
Cunningham, Alison Lynch, SInead
Cusack(0-1), Nicola Lynch, Frances
Lynch(1-2), Nora Cunnigham(0-1),
Debbie (0-3), Niamh Marsh, Trish
Grimes(0-1), SInead Browne(3-1),
Teresa Brooks(0-2), Chritine Emmet(0-1),
Nicola Leady, Niamh
